Healing
Today I thanked God for all he has done in healing me. I am truly a blessed person. I have given the Devil his due(my prostate) and that's over. A good friend of mine has prostate cancer. 48 years old. Great guy, built a house for me 15 years ago and did a fantastic job. Like me loves to saltwater fish ( Reelman) as in " fish on, you gotta reel man!" Also very active, in great shape. I have talked with him about 3 hours over the past few weeks, Ironically enough he saw me in the urologist's office the day I got my catheter out. Said he new why I was there because it was August and I was wearing sweatpants. I could tell by the look on his face what he was finding out. He called me a week or two later and we have spoken about his condition and mine. He is going to Duke next week to have a consult with my surgeon. I believe Dr. Cary N Robertson is one of the best men I have ever met. He took the time to explain every option and what he believed would be my best treatment. If you read Dr. Robertson's abstracts he has spent his professional career trying to statistically figure out based on your Gleason score,prostate volume, age weight, race and other factors what type of treatment you are best suited for, what your chances of recurrance are, and what you can expect from each treatment as it pertains to incontinence and e.d. A very remarkable and brilliant man. I can never, ever thank him enough for what he did for me. Anyway, I'm pulling for my friend, he has sleepless nights and worry ahead. Some things just eat you alive don't they?
