results of bone scan

Diagnosis
I used the phase diagnosis to post this blog because it is the results of the bone scan. Today Ron was told that the bone scan showed that the cancer has spread throughout his body. The cells are in his leg, his arm, pelvic area, spine, neck and head. The military hospital where he is going reassured him that they will continue the fight with him and not give up. Does this mean they don't know what to do? Or what can be done at this point and instead of saying that, they say they will help him fight it?

I am not sure what to think.

The next appt. is with oncology to discuss treatment options on Dec. 17th. Will this be too late? We are hoping he is well enough to spend time with our children in Colorado for the holidays. How has this happend? The doctor said he was born with cancer cells when he was asked if lifestyle was the cause of this?

I am still trying to come to terms with this diagnosis today. I don't understand. The only symptom Ron had was difficulty urinating, no other pain unless he mistook back pain from a plane injury instead of symptoms of prostate cancer. A year ago, when he suffered a lacerated kidney and three broken ribs, no one mentioned a PSA number because they weren't looking for that, but was it there then?

What happens next?
