If I can do it so can you!

Wellbeing
I hope everyone is well and you're anticipating a fun filled Memorial Day weekend.

Immediately after 2/11/13, I took my medical teams advice to heart in getting myself in proper physical shape after my robotic prostatectomy. Core work, walking and then running became key to my recovery. My medical team provided detailed instructions/recommendations on post surgical exercises and fitness programs.

Fitness is key to your recovery. Being or becoming sedentary is not the answer after surgery. Walk, jog, become physically active. There's nothing about Prostate surgery that will stop you from total fitness.

My 1st 5k race came 4 month after my surgery. Almost exactly a year from the date of my surgery, I ran my 1st half marathon race (March 2014). This year I have run another 5k, and a 10 miler (April 2014). June 2014 I will be running a 10k on June 14th and a 5k on Father's Day (The Gary Papa Prostate Cancer 5k in Philly). I just registered for my next 1/2 marathon in September (Navy/Air Force 1/2).

I attached what I call my "Transformation" photo. This is my after surgery photo and my recent 2014 status. This is all from the grace of God and the motivation of friends and family letting me know I can do this.

So can you!!
