Treatment
Well this is my first blog so I'm not going to be that succinct I suspect. But it's worth writing anyway. I am trying to get some fund raisers going here in CO where I live for the time being (plan on moving back to NJ one day) & in NJ where my family lives. I've been getting pissed off at the Barbra Davis Center where Doriel my daughter goes for her check ups because they have no idea who Dr. Denice Faustman is or what she's been doing. Hello! Way to stay on top of the JAMA!! She found a cure in mice for type 1 diabetes and is now in phase 2 trials. Why isn't the ADA or JDRF helping them out?! Why isn't the BDC interested in this?! They poo poo it every time I bring the lab up. So I want to get the word out there as best I can to let every one know about this remarkable lady & her team.
I have a friend in a band, Tuff Grooves, that is going to put a show on for me. A portion of the ticket sales will go to benefit the lab. I also have my sister in law saying she wants to give CPR classes & the procedes will go to the lab. My sister & her hubby Tom who is in Trailer Park Mafia Rocks (In NJ) is going to set something up there as well.
I contacted Brett Michaels to see if he'll be a spokes person or help out in some small way. I am getting Doriel to contact her idol crush Nick Jonas to see if he'll lend some sort of support too. I also want to contact several other celebrities who have type 1.
